Starting from Marangu gate to Mandara huts, at the base of Mt Kilimanjaro. The day hike is designed for those who don´t wish to climb Mt Kilimanjaro to the top yet want to experience the trekking to the Africa´s tallest mountain. Then keep enjoying the woodland savanna of Tarangire where the wildlife density is exceptionally high especially during the dry season. Witness the large herds of elephant in the tarangire river and Silale swamp. Driving to Lake Manyara is very spectacular, enjoy the rift valley scenery and the soda lake with flamingoes. Be stunned by the landscapes of Ngorongoro crater, one of the natural wonders of the world. Enjoy a short tour to the archaeological site Olduvai Gorge Museum. Extend your tour into the Serengeti̕ s endless plains one of the largest and best known nature reserve in the world.
Day By Day Itenerary
Day 1: Arrival – Kilimanjaro International Airport

 

Karibu sana, Warmly welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, our representative/Guide will meet you and welcome you then you will be transferred to Arusha.  Overnight at African Tulip Hotel Bed and Breakfast basis.

Day 2: Mount Kilimanjaro day hike

After early breakfast, departure with picnic lunch to Mount Kilimanjaro national park for a day hike. The hike will take 6-7 hours depending on the pace. Enjoy the highland forest plateau with its landscape and the stunning views. The hike through the rain forest will be breathtaking as you come close to nature while making your body enjoy a nice walk without feeling too exhausted at the end. After hiking you will drive back to Arusha. Accommodation at African Tulip Hotel, Bed and breakfast basis

Day 3:  Tarangire National Park

Morning departure to Tarangire national park with picnic lunch. Enjoy the savanna woodland dotted with spectacular baobab trees, here you will see the magnificent big herds of African elephants than any park in northern Tanzania. Tarangire covers an area of 2600 square kilometers is spectacular in the dry season when many of the migratory wildlife species come back to the permanent water source of Tarangire River. River provides water all the year round, making this park a critical refuge during the dry season for migratory ungulates, resulting in sheer densities of wildlife. Big cats such as lions, leopards and cheetahs can be found in this park, as well as big herd of buffalo, Impala, Zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, baboon, monkey etc. Accommodation at Maramboi tented lodge. Day 4: Lake Manyara National Park

The great day starts with early morning guided nature walk to the lake Manyara (optional) then have a leisurely breakfast before you start driving to Lake Manyara national park. Enjoy driving through farming villages and stunning view of the Great Rift Valley escarpment before entering the park. Lake Manyara is beautiful park with its evergreen vegetation and tropical forest of giant fig, mahogany trees and acacia forest  the park also offers a diverse bird life with over 400 bird species including flamingo, pelican, storks, hornbills, herds of elephant, hippo, baboon, monkey, zebra, wildebeest, waterbuck. The park is also famous for its tree climbing lions, and leopard. Late afternoon drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area in preparation for your crater descent the following morning. Accommodation at Ngorongoro Sopa lodge. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 5: Ngorongoro crater

 

Early morning departure to the crater game drive and be one of the first vehicle descending into one of the natural wonders of the world. The crater covers an area of 304 km square and its diameter is 19.5 km, while its depth is 630m. The Ngorongoro crater floor is dominated by open grassland and it has a patch of woodland known as Yellow barked acacia forest. This forest provides shelter for animals such as elephants, buffalo, eland, rhino and more than 500 bird species. The crater is home to an endangered species black rhino and a population of about 25,000 large animals, mostly ungulates and highest density of lions and spotted hyenas. Late afternoon drive back to the lodge.  Accommodation at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 6, 7 & 8: Central Serengeti via Olduvai Gorge

Awake to the enchanting calls of the early morning birds. Another great day is going to start with a spectacular drive in the rain forest on the crater rim before heading to Serengeti national park via Olduvai Gorge museum. The gorge is a rich archaeological site where an evidence of the first signs of early human life was found. After the museum tour then proceed with game drive en route to Serengeti national park. Central Serengeti has a network of river valleys supplying a stable source of water, the Seronera valley is home to the world´s largest and diverse wildlife population of predators and herbivores. Excellent encounters happens year round regardless the season or the location of the great migration. Observe the large Predators lions, leopard, cheetah, spotted hyena, different variety of ungulates and more than 500 bird´s species. Accommodation at Embalakai Tented Camp. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 7: Southern Serengeti

 

After your breakfast enjoy the full day game drive, picnic lunch at your leisure and track wildlife in the southern Serengeti plains.

Day 8: Ndutu – Ngorongoro Crater

 

Leave very early in the morning after breakfast with your picnic lunch boxes for the Ngorongoro Crater game drive. The crater is such a unique safari destination as the animals are everywhere, a veritable “Garden of Eden”. With a large concentration of herbivores and carnivorous in Africa.

Day 9: Serengeti National Park- Arusha

Enjoy your last morning in the Serengeti national park. Have a leisurely breakfast or head out for a short early morning game drive before driving to the Seronera airstrip to catch your scheduled flight back to Arusha. You will be met by our representative at Arusha Airport then you will have a day room (Optional) and enjoy a farewell lunch in Arusha before your departure to Kilimanjaro International airport. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch.
